Jump Racing
Three Yorkshire Jump Courses
With three jump courses in Yorkshire, there is plenty of racing to keep you going through the winter months. Yorkshire is also home to three time champion jump jockey Brian Hughes and we have plenty of equine athletes to run over hurdles and fences, as well as those bred for the job but learning the ropes, starting off in National Hunt Flat races.
Top Racing Action
Catterick, Doncaster and Wetherby provide the action and feature some top class races such as the Wetherby’s Charlie Hall Chase, the Great Yorkshire Chase at Doncaster and our very own National with the North Yorkshire Grand National at Catterick.
Yorkshire equine stars love to shine at their local tracks and many of the races are considered trials for the major jump festivals at Cheltenham and Aintree, providing the opportunity for talent from across the country to take on our flag bearers and write the narrative for the pinnacle races.
Jump racing is the perfect post-Christmas antidote, with the three jump racecourses holding four consecutive days of racing from Boxing day to 29th December and then quickly returning to Catterick for a New Year’s Day meeting. An enjoyable way to get out of the house with friends and family and work off some of the Christmas indulgence.
There are 36 scheduled fixtures for the 2024/25 jump season. All the racing can be viewed on RacingTV and Sky Sports Racing, with some fixtures broadcast on ITV Racing.
