
Catterick Racecourse’s 2024/25 National Hunt Season Ends in Style

Catterick’s 2024/25 National Hunt season finale takes place on Wednesday 5 March, when the course will stage its ever-popular Countryside Ladies’ Day, offering an opportunity for racegoers to showcase winter fashions whilst enjoying an afternoon of thrilling racing action on the track.
Alongside the six-race card, racegoers will be invited to take part in fashion competitions including Best Dressed Lady and Best Accessory. Catterick’s racegoers are encouraged to dress for the weather during the National Hunt season and, as a result, the judges will be looking for Countryside inspired outfits with both style and practicality important factors!
The 2025 Best Dressed Lady Competition has been kindly sponsored by the Black Bull Inn and La Fille Rouge, and Catterick’s Jumps Season Best Dressed Lady will win a two-course meal for two people with a bottle of house wine at the Black Bull Inn, plus a £250 gift voucher to spend at La Fille Rouge!
La Fille Rouge design and create bespoke capes, wraps and accessories in tweeds, wool and waxed cotton. Each item is individually handmade by Yvonne Scales on her farm near Northallerton. Yvonne will also be attending with her stand on the day to showcase some of her designs, offering a retail opportunity for racegoers, alongside the racing action.
Additionally, Saks Hair & Beauty Salon at Sedbury Hall will be offering a prize for the best accessory on the day, so whether you have a favourite fedora, gorgeous gloves or beautiful boots, make sure you wear them to Catterick Races on Wednesday 5 March for a chance to win a £100 gift voucher for Saks at Sedbury Hall!

Catterick’s Champion Trainer and Jockey will also be decided by the end of racing on 5 March. Brian Hughes currently leads the jockey standings, on 5 wins for the season so far. Whilst things in the trainer’s championship are a little tighter, with three trainers – Donald McCain, Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith and Philip Kirby – all on 4 wins each, and several others also very close behind. With only two fixtures left this season, it could all come down to the season finale on Countryside Ladies’ Day.
The first race on Wednesday 5 March is due to take place at 2.25pm, and the last race at 4.55pm. Also on the card, is the Nick Luck Daily Podcast Pointing Pointers Open Hunters’ Steeple Chase, where the Nick Luck Daily Podcast will be offering a £5,000 bonus to any horse who has lined up in a point-to-point race in the 2024/25 season that can win the Hunter Chases at both Catterick on 5th March and Kempton on 1st April.
The gates will be open to the public from 12 noon, with all facilities available from then onwards, including the recently redeveloped Horseshoe Café Bar, and a free shuttle bus will run from Richmond Market Place to bring racegoers to the racecourse approximately 1 hour prior to the first race and will return after the last.
Tickets are available to purchase at the gates on the day, while advanced and group booking discounts are available up until 48 hours prior to the race day either online at catterickbridge.co.uk or via the racecourse office by calling 01748 811478. As with all of Catterick’s fixtures, accompanied under 18’s are admitted free of charge and concessions are available for racegoers aged 65+, students and military personnel.
