The next race meeting at Catterick races is Tuesday 15th September, with the first of seven races race at 2pm. The feature race is the £10,000 CNG Handicap Stakes over seven furlongs. Harrogate based firm CNG Ltd are sponsoring in support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and, in addition, the charity’s own racehorse an unnamed two year old, ‘Tommy’ , trained by John Weymes, will parade before racing for anyone wishing to purchase a share.
This meeting is a Catterick Annual Badge Holder’s Guest Day, when each Annual Badge Holder can bring two complimentary guests.
In a busy week for the racecourse the following meeting is on Saturday 19th September. The first of seven races is at 2.25pm and the feature race is the £20,000 final of the 2015 Catterick Twelve Furlong Series. Sponsored by East Yorkshire cased firm ETS (UK) limited the series final is open to any horse that has run in a qualifier throughout the season. Won in the previous two runnings by progressive types Dolphin Village and Poetic Verse, trained by Richard Fahey and John Quinn respectively, the series has proved a successful addition to the Catterick race programme.
As well as the racing there is additional children’s entertainment in the Course Enclosure with bouncy castles, roundabout and face painting and there is live music throughout from local band Trio Gitan.
