Racegoers are invited to dress to impress as Ladies’ Day returns to Catterick Racecourse on Wednesday 27 August, promising an unforgettable afternoon of fashion, fun, and thrilling racing action.
Alongside a six-race card, the day will feature live music, complimentary cocktails, fashion competitions, and free children’s entertainment, making it a perfect day out for all ages.
Gates open at 12 noon on the day, and early arrival is encouraged, with the first 100 visitors to the Yorkshire Dales Distillery stand (located by the Parade Ring) set to receive a complimentary Strawberry & Thai Basil Gin and Lemonade.
Racing gets underway at 2.15pm, with the feature race of the day, the Dave Watson Memorial Handicap Stakes – run over 5 furlongs – scheduled for 4.15pm. The final race of the day is due to come under starter’s orders at 4.45pm.
Between the races, visitors can enjoy live music, performed by singer-songwriter Elena Larkin, while fashion lovers can take centre stage in the Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat competitions.
This year’s Best Dressed Lady will take home a fantastic Berber Leather Gift Set, including a red ladies’ satchel, embossed saddle bag, and small purse, plus a £100 voucher to spend online. The winner will also represent Catterick in the Go Racing in Yorkshire Best Dressed Final, held online after the final Yorkshire-based Ladies’ Day fixture at Doncaster in September.
Meanwhile, the Best Hat Competition, sponsored by Fascination by Cherished, offers the chance to win a fabulous £200 voucher for hat hire from the Ripon-based designer.
Emma Stevenson, General Commercial Manager at Catterick Racecourse, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors for providing such fantastic prizes. Ladies’ Day is always a highlight of our Flat season, and we can’t wait to see the style and creativity on display this year!”
As Ladies’ Day falls within the final week of the school holidays, the event is family-friendly, with free children’s entertainment on offer in the Course Enclosure throughout the afternoon. Activities include a bouncy castle, inflatables, and soft play – and as always, accompanied under-18s go free.
Advance tickets start from just £8 for the Course Enclosure and £17 for the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure. Racegoers booking in advance can also enjoy 50% off quarter bottles of Prosecco when pre-ordered with their admission tickets, thanks to catering partners CGC Event Caterers.
Tickets will be available at the gates on the day, while advance and group discounts are available until midnight on Monday 25 August. Book online at www.catterickbridge.co.uk or by calling the racecourse office on 01748 811478.
Concessions are available for students, over-65s, and military personnel, both in advance and on the day.
