Even better, children under 18 go FREE at nearly all race meetings when accompanied by an adult, with adult admission starting from as little as £6.

Many racecourses host special Family Days during school holidays, packed with extra entertainment to keep younger visitors happy throughout the day. Depending on the event, you might find:

Circus skills workshops
Fairground rides
Animal encounters
Live music and fancy dress fun

Racecourses also offer plenty of space for children to run around and play, making it an easy and relaxed day out for parents too.

Racecourses are ideal if you’re looking for affordable family activities during the holidays. Picnics are welcome in many family enclosures, so you can bring your own food, although there are also lots of tasty options available on site – and don’t forget to keep an eye out for the ice-cream van!

With fresh air, entertainment, and plenty of excitement, it’s the kind of day where children head home happy and tired after burning off lots of energy.
