The 2024 Flat Season at Catterick Racecourse continues on Saturday 19 October with its feature race, the William Hill Catterick Dash.

An earlier start to proceedings means that gates will open to the public from 10am, with the first race scheduled to take place at 11am. However, the racecourse will be staying open into the afternoon, until approximately 5pm, to allow racegoers to enjoy the live coverage of Champions Day from Ascot on the big screens and TV’s around the course.

The first race on the card will be the penultimate round of the Go Racing in Yorkshire Future Stars Apprentice Series. William Pyle currently leads the series, which culminates at Doncaster Racecourse three weeks later.

The feature race of the day, the William Hill Catterick Dash, is Catterick’s richest race of the season and will take place at 1.30pm. The minimum distance five-furlong sprint should attract plenty of good sprinters with a total prize fund of £30,000.

Racegoers can also try their luck at a chance to win a sponsorship experience on the day via a competition on the official racecourse app, Raceday Ready. The winner will be invited into the Parade Ring to choose the Best Turned Out horse ahead of the race and will present the prize to the Winning Connections after the race.

The final race on the track at Catterick will be the 1.58pm William Hill Committed to Top Prices Veterans’ Handicap Stakes. Following that, the TV’s and big screens will provide coverage of the action from Champions Day, so racegoers can stay to enjoy the racing from Ascot.

Alongside the racing, racegoers can enjoy live music by singer-songwriter Elena Larkin.

The meeting on 19 October is Catterick’s penultimate raceday of the 2024 Flat season, with the final fixture taking place on Tuesday 29 October.

The Flat Finale, on 29 October, falls within the half-term holidays, so it’s worth remembering that accompanied under 18’s are admitted free of charge to all Catterick’s fixtures.

The final meeting will also determine Catterick’s Champion Trainer, Jockey and Owner for the 2024 Flat season. Tim Easterby will take some catching in the Champion Trainer contest – he has a total of 8 wins so far this season, with his closest rivals on 4. The Jockey’s series is much closer with just one winner separating Connor Beasley, on 8 wins, and Jason Hart, on 7 wins for the season so far. The Racing Emporium are currently leading the Owners series, on 4 wins, following an impressive back-to-back double earlier in the season.

As with all of Catterick’s fixtures, a complimentary shuttle bus service will run between Richmond Market Place and the racecourse, starting one hour prior to the first race.

Advanced and group booking discounts are available until 48 hours prior to each raceday, either over the phone by calling the racecourse office on 01748 811478 or online at www.catterickbridge.co.uk, while tickets will also be available to purchase at the gates on the day.

Concessions for students and those aged 65 and over, and discounted military tickets are also available both in advance and at the gates on the day.
