£30,000 raised for MND Association at Ripon
Saturday 15th August 2026 – William Hill raised £30,000 for their partner charity, the MND Association, at Ripon’s biggest raceday.
The 2026 renewal of Ripon’s feature summer race was run as the William Hill/MND Association Great St Wilfrid Handicap, alongside the William Hill Supporting MND Silver Cup Handicap as two of five sponsored races.
All profits from both races were donated to the MND Association, with William Hill donating a total of £30,000 to take evoke’s total amount raised for their partner charity close to the £500k mark, nearing the halfway point of their £1 million target.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “After a brilliant day’s racing at Ripon, we are pleased to have donated a further £30,000 to the MND Association.
“All profits from the William Hill Supporting MND Silver Cup and William Hill/MND Association Great St Wilfrid Handicap were donated, taking us to within touching distance of the £500k barrier, which we expect to break through by the end of the year as we continue fundraising to get to the £1m target.
“Both feature races were lively betting heats with well-backed favourites turned over, all to the benefit of a great cause.
“We’re glad to have supported another great day at Ripon and move close to another donation milestone for our partner charity.”
